Two shortcuts
Right Ctrl to talk. Right Alt + Right Ctrl to listen. F8 and Ctrl + Space work too.
Nima turns your voice into writing, and the words on your screen into a voice. In any app on Windows.
Download for WindowsFree to start. No card needed.
Layout is on: Nima adds greeting and paragraph breaks to the email.
In the scene, someone says: "Hi Alex, could you send the, um, the deck by Thursday? Actually, Friday. Thanks." Nima removes the filler and repeat, uses the correction, and, with Layout on, adds greeting and paragraph breaks. The inserted email reads: "Hi Alex, Could you send the deck by Friday? Thanks." Then they click a sentence in an article and Nima reads from there, lighting each word as it is spoken.
The best sentence you will write today arrives while you are pacing the kitchen.
By the time you reach the keyboard, half of it is gone.
And the long read you saved is still open, three days later.
Tap Right Ctrl and talk. Nima listens, keeps what you meant, and lets the rest go.
You say: “Let’s move our call to Thursday, um, actually, Friday. Same time?” Nima writes: “Let’s move our call to Friday. Same time?”
Your words appear in Nima’s preview while you speak, then land once, cleanly, in the field you started in. Press Escape and nothing is written. Move to another window and your words wait for you to copy.
Email, team chat, documents, the prompt box of your AI assistant. Nima writes into the field you started in. No plugins, no copying and pasting.
Press Right Alt + Right Ctrl and point. Nima reads it aloud in a natural voice, faithfully, and the page stays exactly as it was.
While you dictate, press Translate to English, or to any of 84 languages, and the whole passage arrives translated. The reader does the same: pick a language mid-page and it carries on from the current sentence, translated aloud.
In the scene, someone dictates in Spanish, chooses English, and the caption turns into “Hi, I’m running ten minutes late. Start without me.” before it lands in the chat. Then Nima reads an English letter aloud, and after choosing Spanish carries on in Spanish.
Speak in the language you think in, and listen in the language the page is written in. Dictation follows your Windows keyboard layout, so switching language is switching layout.
And seventy-two more.
Write a message in one, read a document in another.
Right Ctrl to talk. Right Alt + Right Ctrl to listen. F8 and Ctrl + Space work too.
Add the names and terms you use, or keep the ones Nima notices you saying.
Change your mind mid-sentence and press Escape. Nothing is written.
Listen at 0.75× to 2×. Pause or replay any time.
Pages that mix languages are read in the order they are written.
Words dictated, time spoken and time read aloud, week by week.
The microphone is used only while you dictate. Escape cancels, and Nima never presses Send for you.
Speech and the text you choose to hear are processed by Google’s AI. Microphone recordings are not saved, reading audio stays in memory, and dictation history is optional.

Nima is a Windows app with two ways to work with words. Dictation turns your speech into text in the field you are using. Reading turns text you point to or select on your screen into spoken audio.
Nima works with supported Windows text fields, including Word and browser editors, without a browser extension. Some custom editors, protected fields, elevated apps, and remote desktops may not support insertion. If Nima cannot safely place your text, it keeps it available to copy.
Dictation and reading support 84 languages. Dictation follows your Windows keyboard layout; reading speaks the text in the language it is written in. The English and Hebrew examples on this page are just two of them.
Yes. Press Right Alt + Right Ctrl, then click a sentence to read from there, drag across text to read those words, or select a screen region. Nima uses accessible text where available. Where text is unavailable, it reads one cropped image of your chosen region; this fallback covers visible content only.
Nima needs an internet connection and a signed-in account. Speech and reading are processed through Google’s AI services. Your microphone is used only during dictation, and Nima does not save microphone recordings.
