Build a vocabulary that belongs to you.
Open Word list to add names or terms and their preferred spelling. Teach a fix for a recurring misheard form. These explicit corrections are more predictable than assuming every similar-sounding word should change.
A word list can improve recognition, but it is not a guarantee. Begin with the words you actually need and check dictations where a term has more than one possible meaning.
Local storage. A choice about sending.
Your word list is stored on your computer. When its sending option is enabled, vocabulary is supplied to the transcription service to help recognition. The privacy settings let you control this.
The next desktop release also adjusts Smart behavior while the word list is sent: it keeps exact wording to reduce the chance of a phrase being rewritten into a list term.
Different writing, different preferences.
Remember writing preferences for the apps you use. An email and a short chat message may need different cleanup or layout settings.
Optional local history lets you revisit and copy dictations. You can delete individual entries or clear history. These tools support your workflow without making a public dictionary of your words.
A few useful answers.
Can I import my Google contacts?
Contacts import is not currently available in the public product. Add the names you need manually.
Does the word list guarantee spelling?
No. Audio recognition can still make mistakes. Review important names and specialist terms before sending.
